#FunFearlessLife Event
One of the perks of living in this city is that literally, and I mean literally, everything can happen here. This past weekend me and great friend Sadé from InfoModa had the chance to attend and represent young dominican professionals at the Cosmo FunFearlessLife event thanks to Stephanie Thomas, CEO and Founder of Streben Marketing.
The event was a two-day conference packed with amazing people, mostly women, talking about everything you can imagine but most importantly making us feel good, dream big and truly believe that we can achieve our goals. From the creator of Spanx Sara Blakely to filmmaker Jason Silva, the whole event felt like opening and reading an entire Cosmo magazine: fun, sexy, smart and inspiring.
The event left us with an incredible desire to just conquer the world. I had the chance personally tell some of the Cosmo corporate team how much I loved the entire production and wish they push for online streaming and/or sister programs with local conferences and panels all over the world next time. They loved the idea!
If I have one “complaint” about the entire event was that there were not that many Latina women on the panels to which they replied “noted!” on Twitter. Yes, if you have something important to say please always say it. It is the only shot we have at changing things.
We were very happy to represent our beautiful and talented country and we can only promise we will do our best to end up speaking at one of their conferences because it is a LOT of fun!
Entre las mejores cosas que tiene vivir en esta ciudad es que todo, y les digo todo, puede pasar aquí. El fin de semana pasado mi gran amiga Sadé de InfoModa y yo tuvimos el chance de representar nuestro país en el evento FunFearlessLife de Cosmopolitan gracias a Stephanie Thomas, Fundadora y Presidente de Streben Marketing.
El evento de dos días estuvo lleno de personas increíbles, la mayoría mujeres, hablando de todo lo que se puedan imaginar pero lo que es más importante haciéndonos sentir bien, soñar en grande y verdaderamente creer que podemos alcanzar nuestras metas. Desde la creadora de las queridas Spanx Sara Blakely hasta el cineasta Jason Silva, el evento completo se sintió como abrir y leer una revista Cosmopolitan completa: divertida, sexy, inteligente e inspiradora.
La conferencia y sus charlas nos dejaron queriendo conquistar el mundo. Tuve el chance de decirle a algunas chicas del equipo corporativo de Cosmo cuanto disfrute toda la producción y quisiera que pensaran en documentar el evento en vivo online y/o paneles y conferencias hermanas en todo el mundo. Les encanta la idea!
Mi única “queja” de todo el evento sería que quise haber visto más Latinas en los paneles a lo que me respondieron “anotado!” en Twitter. Si, si tienes algo importante que decir por favor siempre dilo. Es el único chance que tenemos de cambiar las cosas.
Estuvimos muy contentas de representar nuestro hermoso y talentoso país y sólo podemos prometer que haremos todo lo posible para terminar como panelistas en estos eventos porque es SUPER divertido!
