If you ask me if I had fun while in college my answer right off the bat would be, "I lived in Chelsea, could it really get better than that?" Okay, maybe I will say yes smiling and then start reminiscing about not having to buy a metrocard every week because school was across the street but I think you get the point. It was just plain awesome to live in the center of it all and in what I still consider one of my favorite neighborhoods.

However, there is a certain beauty to starting over somewhere new and finding cool places and views you definitely did not know where around you.

Last Sunday, best day ever created if you ask me, Chan and I went uptown to have some lunch, coffee and get some work done. Although we ended up going to an old diner because Indian Road Cafe was packed like there was no other place to have brunch in the city, although it totally was the only place to have brunch for a bunch of houses around, it was a lovely walk in Inwood Hill Park.

Remember to take the time to discover your neighborhood. I happen to really like living uptown and do not see myself leaving these high lands anytime soon.

Si me preguntas que si mis años de universidad fueron buenos en un segundo te respondo “vivía en Chelsea, existe algo mejor que eso?” Okay, probablemente te diría que sí mientras sonrío y recuerdo lo genial que era no tener que comprar pases para el metro porque solía vivir frente a mi edificios de clase pero creo que entiendes la idea. Verdaderamente fue una experiencia única poder vivir en el centro de todo en una de mis áreas favoritas hasta este día.

Aun con esto en mente, hay una cierta belleza en empezar de nuevo en otro lugar y encontrar lugares super cool y vistas que definitivamente no sabías que estaban cerca de ti.

El domingo pasado, el mejor días de la semana si me preguntas, Chan y yo fuimos uptown para comer, tomarnos unos cafés y trabajar un poco. Aunque terminamos yendo a una vieja cafetería ya que Indian Road Café tenia mas personas de las que esperamos o pensamos posible esperando por mesas, aunque con toda honestidad no hay mucho de donde escoger por esa área en específico, fue una preciosa caminata por el parque Inwood Hill.

Recuerda siempre tomarte tiempo para conocer tu vecindario. Personalmente me fascina vivir uptown y no me veo dejando estas tierras altas pronto.
