When I first moved to New York I simply couldn't believe that I was so close to the iconic Central Park. I mean, I could go in between classes with a coffee in hand and explore this wonderful design treasure right in Manhattan.

Of course, that rarely happened.

Weeks turned into months, and in between projects and work I was close to graduating college and I felt like I really hadn't explored the city, and even less Central Park. My redemption came as soon as I graduated and started to make *some* money and had a bit more time in my hands, especially during the weekends.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park starts right under the iconic landmark it takes its name after, better known as the place every single one of your friends takes a pic at when in New York.

All jokes aside, this park is magnificent. The view of the city is beyond beautiful and given summer has officially arrived to the city, the piers are bursting with activities from everything to BBQs to Zumba classes and sports games.

The park is also near the iconic pizza restaurant, Grimaldi’s, where you can grab some authentic New York pizza, although be ready for a hefty check and a long wait. Then, make your way to the piers, which you can comfortable walk or bike!

Below are some pics from a couple of weekends ago when I first went to shoot for work and then returned during the weekend to catch some rays on the grass. Yes, you can totally do that here!

Cuando me mudé a Nueva York hace ya casi cinco años, no podía creer lo cerca que estaba al icónico Central Park. En teoría, podía sencillamente ir entre clases con mi café en mano y dedicarme a descubrir aquel tesoro de la ciudad.

Claro, eso rara vez pasó.

Las semanas se volvieron meses y entre proyectos y trabajos estaba ya casi al graduarme de la universidad, y sentía que no había explorado mucho la cuidad, mucho menos Central Park. Mi momento llego al graduarme y comenzar a trabajar y hacer alguito de dinero, además de por fin tener más tiempo libre, especialmente durante los fines de semana.

El parque del puente de Brooklyn comienza justo debajo del puente del cual toma el nombre, mejor conocido como aquel lugar en el cual todos tus amigos se toman fotos cuando vienen a Nueva York.

Pero en ya en serio, el parque es sin duda un espectáculo. La vista del área de downtown Manhattan es impactante y ya que por fin ha llegado el verano a la ciudad, los muelles están llenos de vidas con todo desde barbacoas hasta clases de zumba o de deporte.

El parque también se encuentra cerca de la icónica pizzeria Grimaldi's, donde podrás probar una auténtica pizza neoyorquina, aunque debes prepararte para una larga fila y una cuenta generosa, y luego caminar hacia los muelles los cuales puedes explorar a pie o en bici.
