Hola, Rita is an online publication for and by Dominican women. Our efforts, pieces, content and images are made and chosen to feature, promote and celebrate Dominican women and everything we are and have to offer. But this month is extra special.
This upcoming March 8th, there will be another worldwide celebration of International Women’s Day, but as everything we try to do here, we want to go an extra mile to celebrate our very own mujeres.
During this entire month, we’ll be sharing more exciting interviews, places and cosas we like that are ran by Dominican women, as well as stories about the women in our lives that have inspired us, gotten us through traumatic times and continue to support and encourage us - all from an undeniable Dominican perspective. We’d love to also honor women that have served our community, both in the Dominican Republic and the United States, and especially when their contributions are not well-known or seldom recognized with the importance they should.
There is still a lot of work to be done to reach equality and the preservation of women all around the world, but we can't deny that it is a very exciting time to be alive. Our Dominican culture and community is changing, and with it the role us women have in it and, therefore, our demands and capabilities.
Dominican women are fantastic, and it is about time we celebrate them big time.
Hola, Rita es una publicación online por y para la mujer Dominicana. Todos nuestros iniciativas, piezas, contenido e imágenes están hechas y elegidas para presentar, promover y celebrar a las mujeres Dominicanas y todo lo que somos y tenemos para ofrecer. Pero este mes es extra especial.
Este próximo 8 de Marzo se celebrará una vez más globalmente el Día Internacional de la Mujer, pero como todo lo que tratamos de hacer aquí, queremos hacerlo en grande y celebrar nuestras mujeres, nuestra comunidad.
Durante todo este mes, compartiremos más entrevistas súper chéveres, lugares y cosas que nos gustan que están dirigidas por mujeres Dominicanas, así también como historias sobre las mujeres en nuestras vidas que nos han inspirado, nos han ayudado en tiempos traumáticos y continúan apoyando y dando apoyo - siempre desde una perspectiva indudablemente Dominicana. Nos encantaría también honrar a las mujeres que han servido a nuestra comunidad, tanto en la República Dominicana como en los Estados Unidos, y en especial cuando sus contribuciones no son bien conocidas o no se reconocen con la importancia que deberían.
Todavía queda mucho trabajo por hacer para alcanzar la igualdad y la preservación de las mujeres en todo el mundo, pero no podemos negar que es un momento muy emocionante para estar vivxs. Nuestra cultura y comunidad Dominicanas están cambiando y con ellas el papel que las mujeres tenemos en las mismas, y naturalmente lo que demandamos y lo que podemos lograr.
Las mujeres Dominicanas son increíbles, y ya es hora de que las celebremos en grande.
